“People often ask me what kind of music I enjoy listening to. String music is my
first and foremost love along with celtic music and native American flute
interpretations. This group of talented young people is spectacular. The vocals are high, clear, and beautifully in tune and the instrumentation is truly inspired. I'm giving Nu-Blu Five Stars.”
Henry Paul - Blackhawk, The Outlaws
“Other Woman's Blues is a well written song that will capture the listener from the first line. I enjoyed Nu-blu's performance of the song very much.....even before Christy sang on it! Congrats guys on a great tune.”
Lou Reid (Seldom Scene, Lou Reid and Carolina)
“Enjoying the whole CD and have played about half the tracks on my shows since I've got it. Good job!!”
Lee Michael Demsey – WAMU Radio
“The Blu-Disc is a wonderful collection by a young band who sound like they've played together for years! As always Carolyn Routh's vocals are outstanding, and the supporting cast around her are stellar. This is a must have CD!”
Steve Dilling, IIIrd Tyme Out
“Great songs, carefully chosen, beautiful harmonies, and subtle instrumental backing. Nu Blu's new CD is chock-full of wonderful musical surprises, with the added potential for a breakthrough to the mainstream Country Charts. This recording will stand the test of time. My favourites, so far, are Look at You and Guitar Case, and everything else!”
Niall Toner/Radio Presenter/Roots Freeway/RTE Radio One – Ireland
“Well, I logged into Airplay Direct for the new single download.... just listened to it.... nice!!!!! The production quality is very good and your vocal performance is beautiful. On first listen, I thought that maybe you had Dolly Parton singing backup but then found out that it is Christy Reid. She did a beautiful job.”

Roy Blackman - The MSB-Show
“When Nu-Blu, the totally new hot Bluegrass band, sends me a song with their trademark signature sound stamped on it - its a good reason to get excited! Their latest song, Other Woman's Blues is just another one of the examples of how they can get you groovin' on their great sound - in the bat of an eye, even if it's on another woman!
Nu-Blu is a reason to smile!”

“Nu Blu is a talented new group on the scene and I'm sure they are attracting fans in droves. Their unique and original material fits their style, is well written and they present it very well.”
Bob Cherry - Cybergrass
“It's incredibly exciting to write a song and have such talent as Nu-Blu perform it so wonderfully. They took my song and made it their own which is a true sign of artistry.”
Donna Ulisse - Singer Songwriter
“The Blu-Disc showcases Nu-Blu's musical maturity while building on the lessons they learned while recording their previous album, Nights.”
Music Shed
“A sweet set of independent bluegrass, with strong echoes of Alison Krauss & Union Station, both in singer Carolyn Routh's vocal style and in the switching off between male and female leads. Several interesting songs, including Other Woman's Blues (an answer to Dolly Parton's immortal classic, "Jolene," sung from Jolene's point of view) and Donna Ulisse's sombre Guitar Case, a song about a man leaving his wife, where you think he'll reconsider and come back, but doesn't.”
SLIPCUE
“NU BLU/Blu Disc: Now that bluegrass has traveled through space grass and new grass, the young ‘un that grew up on punk and cable TV bring to bear nu grass, front loading the sound with singer/songwriter sensibilities adding an interesting new strain to the old DNA. While these apples might not have fallen far from the tree, they have rolled across the yard a bit and if the moldy figs can't handle it, they are the ones that are going to miss out. The singing, the playing and the bluegrass vibe is all out in full force, but this is certainly well done nu grass for a new generation. A solid work by up and coming pros.”
Midwest Record
“Wonderful project. Band has a well-developed sound but with roots in traditional music. Thanks for sending.”
